Her Best Foot Forward

In July, I underwent a procedure to remove varicose veins from my left leg.

I did so because the veins were occasionally painful and because my left ankle was constantly swollen and an ominous dark red in color (ulceration was a possibility). I also did not like the way my leg appeared when I femulated.

In a couple of weeks, I have an appointment for a follow-up examination to make sure my leg is all right. I believe my leg is good to go, but what do I know, so I will let the pros have at it.

Whereas I was a male patient at the vein center last summer, I plan to go to the follow-up appointment as a female patient and let the chips fall where they may.

I think wearing a short skirt and high heels will be appropriate, don't you?

Summer's Fading Fast

Some of the trees in my neck of the woods are starting to change color. And a few outliers are already shedding their leaves.

Where did the summer go? It sure came and went fast! And is gone for good on Saturday.

Seems like I spent the summer going to doctors, cleaning the garage and watching the Red Sox. Not much femulating and this girl is anxious to get out!

My leg has healed enough so that what remains to heal can be hidden under my pantyhose or thigh high stockings. And instead of being embarrassed about my varicose-veined leg, now I can be happy that my left leg matches my right leg, not to mention no more vein pain.

I'd love to go to Fantasia Fair next month, but it is not in the cards. My wife can't handle all the walking that the Fair requires and I am loathe to leave her at home alone for a week or even a half-week. I wish the Fair had day rates and then I'd go up to P-Town for a day or two to see my friends and take in some of the Fair's events.

All is not lost. I look forward to girl days and nights out and about in Connecticut this fall.

Best Foot Forward

After the varicose veins were removed from my leg last Monday, I had to wear a compression stocking for five days (or more if I felt like it).

The stocking is opaque and hides the blacks and blues, scabs and hairs on my healing leg. But being opaque, it gives me a good idea how my leg will look after it is healed and shaved.

I was anxious to see how my leg will look in girl mode, so Sunday I applied minimal makeup, slipped on my wig and undies and took some selfies while posing in a few outfits. The best selfie of the photoshoot appears in the "About Stana" slot in the right hand column of this blog.

Doctor says it will take about a month to heal and when that occurs, I plan to slip on a pair of sheer hose, dress to nines and go out to celebrate.

How'd I Do?

First of the year, I posted my To Do list for 2011. As the year is winding down quickly, it is time to review the list and see how I did.

Dress en femme more often than not --- This year, I was en femme more than ever before, but not "more often then not."

Kiss a girl --- No kisses, but lots of hugs.

Lose ten pounds --- I lost 12 pounds during 2011 (and even better, have kept it off). I think it shows and I am very happy about accomplishing this To Do.

Write a book --- I started to write a book, but did not finish it.

Get rid of my back fat --- Losing 12 pounds and using shapewear that hides back fat has essentially eliminated my back fat.

Have more nights out with the girls --- I had nights out with the girls in 2011, but probably no "more" than in 2010.

Get rid of my varicose veins --- Didn't happen; maybe next year.

Improve my blog --- The blog is a work-in-progress, so I am always tweaking it trying to improve it.

Find a new hair style --- I bought a new wig in January, which became my go-to coiffure in 2011.

Attend a transgender conference --- I attended a transgender conference in April.

Sell Avon en femme --- I made a few Avon sales en femme in 2011 and I attended an Avon sales conference in September.

Overall, I believe that 2011 was a good year for me.
