Outed?

Femulating at Airline High School, Bossier City, Louisiana, in 1982

In case you don’t read comments that follow my blog posts, Paulette had this to say about Friday’s All the Pretty School Girls post.

I hesitate to cast a cloud over anything you do on this site, having been a big fan for many years.
(Now comes the 'but'...)
However, have you considered the possibility that these old buried cross-dressing photos (aka womanless beauty pageants) are better left undisturbed? In today's fevered environment, being outed on the internet could be most unwelcome. A dusty schoolbook yearbook is - thankfully for many - lost to history. And despite our prurient fascination in others like ourselves, we have no right to dig up potential problems that will strike 40-50 year olds and their families, like a proverbial bolt from the blue.
Just sayin'

On more than one occasion, I have considered Paulette’s point, but fter writing about and posting over 4,000 womanless images from online school yearbooks, I have never received a complaint that someone has been outed. I believe there are primarily two reasons for this:

Although we like to think differently, most of the people in the images are not femulators. Their high school femulation was a one time occurrence, so there is nothing to be outed about.
About half of the images do not name the people captured in the photo; their anonymity provides protection from being outed.

If anyone ever complains, I will delete their photo immediately.

All the Pretty School Girls

Lara, Maureen and Curly Joan are just three of the pretty girls captured in a new batch of photos that Starla uncovered in on-line school yearbooks. In case you are new here, the girls are really boys crossdressed by their mothers to participate in womanless beauty pageants (or other gurly events) put on by their respective schools.

Starla came up with 53 new yearbook images and they are now available on flickr, where you may view the new photos by opening one of the Yearbooks sets (A through Z). There you will find the newest uploads at the end/bottom of the set. (The oldest uploads appear at the beginning/top of the set.)

The contents of the Yearbook A through Z sets are organized according to school name, for example, the photos from Sacred Heart High School would be in the Yearbooks S set.

By the way, if you participated in your school's womanless beauty pageant or attended some other school activity en femme, I would love to post your photos along with any description you would like to provide. For example, here is my photo attending my school's Halloween party in 1976.

Back to School

Back to School
Femulating in the Yale School of Drag Show (left) and at Belleville Township (Illinois) East High School (right).

I am back at school today, so I offer you two batches of school femulations.

৹   Starla’s latest online school yearbook discoveries

৹   Aunty June’s images from the Annual Yale School of Drag Show

Flickr is home for both collections, but they are located in different neighborhoods.

Aunty’s Yale images are in her Guys to Gurls on Stage and Screen Group.

Starla’s school gurl images are on my flickr page. You may view Starla’ new photos in two ways:

Method 1: Open one of the Yearbooks sets (A through Z) and you will find the newest uploads at the end/bottom of the set. (The oldest uploads appear at the beginning/top of the set.)

Method 2: Open my photostream and you will find the newest uploads at the top of page 1. The uploads get older as the page numbers get higher with the oldest uploads on the last page.

The contents of the Yearbook A through Z sets are organized according to school name, for example, the photos from Sacred Heart High School would be in the Yearbooks S set.

Miss Eng’g (She’s Back!)

2012-12-14-Miss-Engineering-2012-Miss-CIEM-Nanny-Gas-Abelgas-Maid

The 2012 installment of the Miss Eng'g (Engineering) womanless beauty pageant will take place Saturday evening at the College of Engineering, University of Philippines-Diliman.

This year, the pageant's Internet presence is on Facebook. There are a lot of photos of the pageant contestants in male and female garb (more of the former than the latter) on Facebook now and I am sure there are more female garb photos to come this weekend. So visit the page and revisit it often.

Starla's College Stars

For months, Starla has been searching online for photos of femulations in school yearbooks. Her efforts have uncovered loads of high school femulations, but recently she found photos of college "girls" in old yearbooks from institutes of higher learning (and higher femulation). I am happy to present her best discoveries (so far) here.

Can't Get Enough of Miss Eng'g

The Miss Eng'g (Engineering) womanless beauty pageant at the College of Engineering, University of Philippines-Diliman is one of the best, if not the best womanless pageant conducted at an educational institute or anywhere else for that matter. Femulate readers agree with that assessment because whenever I post something about Miss Eng'g here, you readers voice your approval.

Oak, a Femulate reader and Miss Eng'g fan, combed the Internet looking for more on Miss Eng'g and was very successful. I have a four-page list of links compiled by Oak that go back as far as 2001 that document the Miss Eng'g pageant in photos. The quality of some of the photos is not the best, but the quality of the femulations depicted in those photos is excellent.

Without further adieu, here is a link to photos from the 2001 installment of the pageant.

Miss Eng’g Again

Miss-Engg-2011---Ms-IE-Club-2011-12-13 In February, I wrote here about the Miss Eng'g (Engineering) womanless beauty pageant at the College of Engineering, University of Philippines-Diliman.

In my opinion, it was "one of the best, if not the best womanless pageant conducted at an educational institute, whether it be grammar school, middle school, high school, or college."

Yamini just informed me that the 2011 installment of the pageant has its Facebook page up and running.

This year's contestants are as amazing as past year contestants. It is hard to believe that the "girls" are really boys; all the femulations are excellent.

But that is just my opinion. See for yourself by visiting the Miss Eng'g Facebook page and feast your eyes on the images displayed at the following links:

•  Evening gown portraits

•  Swimsuit portraits

•  Character portraits

•  Boy mode portraits

Truly amazing!

Talking Tomorrow En Femme

Wednesday, I will speak to a class at a local college. I mentioned last week that this is the class that my friend Patty is now teaching.

A few people asked about the contents of my talk.

Usually, when I do outreach, I am doing it with four to six other people. In that case, we each give our biographies in a nutshell (about 5 minutes each) and then the students ask questions during the remainder of the class.

On Wednesday, I will be solo, so I plan to speak longer (the 15-minute version of my biography), then I will take questions from the students.

In addition to speaking to the class, I plan to go shopping at the malls.

It should be a fulfilling and fun day out.

Womanly Yours,

Stana

College Drag

2011-10-17_nick-gresh---penn-state-univ Miss Jan Brown, the Fantasia Fair program director and an old gal pal, is a regular reader of this blog (who isn't?) and she commented from Provincetown that all is well at the Fair, despite my absence!

Anyway, regarding the video of the high school Lady Gaga impersonator, Jan referred me to a collegiate drag show at Penn State over the weekend (as covered by the University's independent newspaper, The Daily Collegian).

Viewing The Daily Collegian article I was duly impressed by freshman Nick Gresh's femulation (see photo) and after a little Googling, I found a related video.

(Ah --- to be young and femulating again!)

never on a Sunday

This Sunday finds some controversy on the femulation front.

On the right side of the Atlantic, there is a big brouhaha over a calendar released by a Spanish LGBT rights organization. The calendar mimics religious paintings and features transgender models dressed like the Virgin Mary. (photo right)

This is not sitting well in the predominantly Catholic Spain.

Meanwhile back in the States, Peaches alerted me to this story about Morehouse College's new dress code that bans its students from wearing female attire.

Morehouse is an all male college and the crossdressing ban is aimed at "about five students who are living a gay lifestyle."

The campus' gay organization supported the ban with a 24 to 3 vote.

So far, I have been unable to determine whether the crossdressing students are transgender or not.
