Great job on these! I think the 3rd one is a "been there done that" for many of us. I can't recall a time that I ever put a run in my mom's hose, but I'm sure she had to have known I was borrowing items from that top drawer...
"Been there, done that" is so true. As a teen the only access to women's clothing was my mother's. It started out with trying on her full slips that I took down from the indoor wash line. It progressed to her granny panties (ugh!), girdle, bras, slips and nylon nightgowns. One day I tried on her sole black bra. These were the days before stretch material. You guessed it, I snapped one of the bra straps. Yikes! I replaced it and waited for the axe to fall. I was never confronted about it. Maybe, it was my older brother? Yeah, right! My mother and father tried to catch me in the act, but never did. The 1950's and 1960's were truly the "dark ages" when it came to young boys trying to figure out these urges.
In the 1960s-1980s Qantas employed only stewards, who seemed all to be gay. They didn't wear uniforms for females though! The nasty slogan in those days (one of a few!) was "Queers Are Not Trained As Stewards". Actually most of them were pretty good.
I always "borrowed" nylons that already had runs just to be safe. I was super-excited when I bought my first pair of Leggs in Cinnamon color. I was probably about 14 or 15 and I walked over two miles each way to a 7-11 in the middle of the night. Needless to say I put them on as soon as I got home!
Hi Donna, Wow! That's quite a bit of effort to buy that pair of L'eggs. And so brave at that age! I never had the nerve to purchase a pair until later in life, and always had to find other ways to "acquire" them.
Perfect timing on the cartoons!
ReplyDeleteI actually had a T-Girl flight attendant yesterday. : )
She did wear trousers though, not the skirt uniform.

ReplyDeleteI would absolutely love to have my wife zip me in a dress and require me to wear until she decides to unzip Jill.
