Did You Resolve?
Here we are just starting the new year and tradition holds that we make resolutions for the coming year – things that we want to accomplish as the year progresses. I’m writing this a few days before 2025 officially arrives and have thought about some resolutions for my girl self.
Mine
I narrowed the field down to four achievable resolutions. Here they are:
1. Lose 12 pounds
2. Get my ears pierced
3. Try going blonde
4. Experiment with larger boobs
Exciting? Maybe not. Some are just practical and others are aspirational. I’ll explain.
Lose Weight
I suspect this is something that just about everybody resolves for the new year. For me, it’s needed because after getting down to a new low weight around the beginning of last year, I’ve slowly added it all back. You might have read a couple of posts back in that I’m too fat for my skinny jeans. Yes, I want to get back into those skinny jeans in the new year.
More importantly, it works for my guy side as well because it is a health risk. My doctor tells me that I’m bordering on diabetic. I’ve been managing to keep that at bay by watching my diet, weight and getting exercise so far, but I need to get back down to where I was.
The Other Three
The remaining three resolutions are more about my girl self and making by best presentation when out as JJ.
I resolved to get my ears pierced because I really am a rebel at heart. I’ll wear simple studs in guy mode. But in girl mode, I want to wear noticeable jewelry like dangly earrings. Or perhaps, something simple but feminine like pearl studs or diamonds. I currently use clip-on earrings, but they hurt after a few hours and my selection is rather limited. With pierced ears I’ll have a wider range of options including borrowing from my SO.
I also have been thinking about a different hair color and perhaps, style. I think that JJ might look good as a blonde. Not a platinum blonde, but a more natural, highlighted blonde look. This will require a trip to a wig store to experiment with different colors and perhaps, styles as I do it. One of my CD sisters and her SO have chatted with me about wig shopping. We will probably mount a joint wig excursion hunting for the right one shortly after the new year.
The last one, bigger boobs, is more than just a fun thing. I’m thinking that a slightly larger breast will look better on JJ than how she looks now. Not a big change. Going up one cup size might be enough. That will probably happen in the first half of the year as I replace some older forms with new ones.
I’ll Be Back
I’ll occasionally report back on my progress towards my resolutions and I’d love to hear what you might have resolved. I welcome comments and suggestions here on Stana’s page or by email at Jenn6nov at-sign gmail dot com.
Hi JJ,
ReplyDeleteGood resolutions, though from the photo I'd say the boobs are just fine.
I lost a bit in the autumn - for me the trick is to eat just enough at lunchtime to avoid massive snacking later in the day. I just love dates and brazil nuts, and these keep the snacking at bay, as well as being good for you. 8-)
You could consider using Manjaro. A close family member has been using it and it really works. You need to take good medical advice before starting on this. With advice, she ordered her own supplies and all is well. Some planning is required to avoid just putting the weight back on again though!
All the best
Penny
Thanks for reading Penny. And I really appreciate the suggestions. JJ
DeleteInteresting to see Pyfrom there. He previously played a trans girl on Chicago Hope. So at least we know what Jessica Boyd looked like as a woman.
ReplyDeleteyou go girl!.JJ nothing motivates us better to lose weight than to drop a size so that perfect dress will fit. lately I am obsessed with polka dots Hugs Brenda.
ReplyDeleteThank you Brenda. I'll be planning some serious shopping once I lose that weight. JJ
DeleteI always encourage everyone to pierce their ears . Nowadays, even the most macho of men wear earrings, so it's certainly not a "tell" for anyone who wants to keep their femme persona hidden . And certainly, it massively increases the range of earrings one can wear .
ReplyDeleteI've had both my ears double pierced for over twenty years, and never got a disparaging comment .
Don't worry about "guy mode" earrings. I love my dangly earrings and get a lot of compliments, even in guy mode. Lately, I've been wearing earrings in trans flag colours (find them on Etsy), but I only have a couple of "guy-ish" earrings.
ReplyDeleteBefore I got my ears pierced, I told people I didn't because it was "too expensive". If asked, I'd explain that I'd spend a lot of money on earrings. Which I did. And still do.
Interesting topic JJ!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you lost weight, and then went with larger breasts if your current clothes would still fit, but just maybe more shapely where you want them too?
Blonde is definitely more fun! You would look smashing in a darker blonde or highlighted color. Find one with dark roots and it would look very natural for you.
I never really did resolutions, but I've decided to make flying en femme a goal for next year. : )
Norah
Good comment Norah I suspect you are right about the weight/boob thing so I'll hold off on the new boobs until later in the year. JJ
DeleteI don't get out much as Lynne, so the following comments relate to wearing earrings in male mode. I pierced my ears on my 60th birthday. It took a while but I settled on pearl studs. Quick observation, Milennials and women over 50 like it, a lot. Seriously, at least once a month someone will approach me to say "Ooh, I love the pearls." People in the small red town I live in could care less. Go for it. You be you.
ReplyDeleteWay back in 1972 I self pierced my left ear. Took a lot of heat back then. On Valentine Day of 88 my wife gifted me and her son gold hoop. One for me and one for him. She saved money on that gift! It’s been there ever since. Only removed it for one day for my surgery. Wanted to double pierce it many times for my birth stone(Ruby). Maybe for my 77birthday in July? The Bible says Job’s friends gifted him earrings to cheer him up. Go for it boy or girl mode. Double Triple studs hoops chandelier mix match your ears!
ReplyDeleteYes JJ, get 'em pierced! It is enjoyable to wear earrings all the time! In guy mode, I generally wear small gold balls or colorful studs. I love the danglies and wear them in girl mode. However, I have a pair of Star Trek earrings that I'm thinking about wearing in guy mode...might be interesting! Looking forward to seeing you soon! Hugs, Kathryn
