T-Tuesday

Amazin’ Amazon

Saturday afternoon, I ordered a bunch of stuff from Amazon. Sunday morning, some of the stuff was delivered before I got up out of bed.

Opening the box, I found one of the eyeliner pencils I ordered was broken into two pieces. I immediately got online to report the problem and Amazon promised to send me a replacement by 10 PM.

“Yeah sure,” I thought to myself, “That’s not going to happen.”

About 6 PM, Alexa informed me that a package had been delivered and sure enough, the replacement pencil was waiting for me in a padded envelope on the front porch.

Amazin’!

Switching

Speaking of eyeliner, I gave up on liquid eyeliner and switched back to pencil eyeliner.

When I do my makeup, it is a pleasure until I get to the eyeliner stage. I fear I am going to make a mistake and I often do as my nervous shaky hand flubs yet another eyeliner application.

I don’t use eyeliner everyday. If I did, practice makes perfect, and I could probably apply liquid eyeliner without a problem. Needless to say, I have better control using a pencil eyeliner. It never gets away from me and puts liner where I don’t want it. And at my age, I should go lighter with the liner; a pencil eyeliner allows that, whereas with a liquid eyeliner, it is all or nothing.

By the way, Schellea of Fabulous50s fame has an excellent video on YouTube, “Eyeliner Tutorial For Mature Eyes.” It was one of the motivating factors for my switch back to pencil eyeliner. Click here to view it.

  1. Hi Stana!
I have found the Maybelline Unstoppable Automatic Pencil to be a great middle ground. Not as harsh as liquiliners, but still waterproof, and goes on like a pencil. I also learned to put the eye liner on FIRST, before foundation. That way, when I mess up, I can just wipe it off and try again without having to touch up foundation. : )

  2. I have always preferred liquid eyeliner, but I can't seem to find one with a decent brush. For a long time I had a black eye shadow and a thin brush that worked great. I learned that method at MAC.

  3. Sorry, but cannot approve of buying little cosmetic articles via Amazon or other mail order stores. Environmental disaster. I go to the local drug store if the cheapest wanted or the local beauty store if I want some help.

  4. That Venus outfit is absolutely fabulous!! Am I the only one wondering what shoes she is wearing with it? For me, it would have to be red stilettos... the taller, the betterđź‘

  5. I loved the Dennis the Menace cartoon! I had forgotten about how you made adjustments to comics. That was great!

  7. I have never had good luck with liquid eyeliner, so it has always been pencils for me - much more forgiving.

  8. On the topic of eyeliner, I wouldn't risk using a liquid one. At the moment I am very happy with a blue eyeliner pencil.

I see Corporal Ian Maehl channelled Marlena Dietrich rather well.

With regard to your AI images, they rather grew on me. Some of the jokes have been quite original. For example, I rather liked the "mince-ins welcome" sign the other day. So please don't entirely give up on the AI images.
