Rue La La

My last two online purchases were from Rue La La. They sell overstocked items at substantial discounts. My recent purchases were two designer name dresses that originally cost $128 each. I paid $59 for one and $40 for the other with  free shipping.

The second dress (image right) was originally discounted to $69. I viewed it online a couple of times, but did not buy it. Rue La La knew my history and when they lowered the price to $40, they sent me an email informing me of the new price and I pounced!

They used USPS and it took 7 to 10 days to arrive. I have not had to return anything, so I don’t know how well their returns work.

Anyway, I am a happy customer and will continue shopping with Rue La La.

Tucking

I mentioned in my Look Ma, No Pants! post that tucking effectively is important for girls like us who try wear tights for pants. I wrote about tucking a year ago, so you may want to refer to that post if you are tucking for the first time.

In my case, what I have to tuck is modest in size, so your mileage may vary, but I have had a lot of success by simply wearing panty girdles and spandex bikini-style panties (not at the same time, and the tighter, the better).

  1. The Debbie Harry emulator is GORGEOUS, but the way he moved... no grace, no flow,. He was stable, but not smooth. And he couldn't stand still when the judges were talking, like he could not get comfortable. But the face and performance otherwise were outstanding. He just needs to wear heels more often....

    1. My thoughts exactly, Fiona. The movement needs to be much more smooth, and with shorter steps. Our femulator needs to understand that women just don't move the same way as men! They glide across the floor rather than troop across it.

But there's a lot to be said about the other aspects of the performance. The presentation is excellent and "she" makes a gorgeous Debby Harry. And the big one for me is that the performance is in "her" own voice, not some cheesy lip synch. That's what makes this show so much better than any of the others.

About the not standing still during the interview process, I think our femulator hasn't done this very often. I think the "ants-in-her-pants" wiggling is about nervous energy and self-consciousness. Note how there's a movement of hands to block the crotch area. Fiona is right about needing to have more practice in heels, and I would add "she" needs more practice femulating in front of people. I think some clubbing as "her" female persona would address both issues.

    2. IMHO, Mr. Popiel's performance compared favorably with Debbie Harry's performance. Debbie was a rocker on stage, not a lady.

    3. Even standing in heels is a little different. Not used to it, you have more weight shifts. Or he enjoyed it too much and his tuck is under stress?

Stana, his performance, other than the WAY he moved was excellent. Debbie strutted around, I have no problem with moving, just, even in heels, he wasn't smooth DOING it. You can be graceful without being proper.

    4. Thanks for those links, Stana. I'd forgotten I looked at them when you previously sent them. Six weeks and they're gone and, like Kaiser Soze, gone and you'll never see them again. Perhaps if RuPaul had been in charge, the performances, along with the transformations, would have been more worth watching. Plus, (excuse my prejudice), I think anything that includes Richard Simmons is doomed from the start.

    1. We can always dream, can't we, Paula. But progress here in the USA continues to be glacial, and if certain people get elected this November things could come to somewhat of a halt. But now let's think about what's happening on the Broadway Stage. We have "Mrs. Doubtfire" currently in performance here in Baltimore. And look at Alex Newell, femulating all the way, winning a Tony for best featured actor in a Musical last year! We don't have to strain our eyes any more to see progress.

    2. The USA version (Sing Your Face Off) aired on ABC in 2014 and lasted only six episodes. Two femulations appeared on the show: Sebastian Bach as Lady Gaga and Landry Fields as Nicki Minaj. Both are available for viewing on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyQwCXqWeZc and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQX_3WZFesg..
