jerseygirlangie is an expert at recaptioning, that is, borrowing an image and changing its caption. I loved her recaption above and am borrowing it for Femulate.org today. You can see many more of her recaptions on flickr by clicking here.

I believe I solved who’s who and annotated the Before and After image accordingly. My solution appears below, but before you look, try and figure it out for yourself and then compare your guesses with mine.
By the way, my guess is that the cisgender woman in the After image is the makeup artist who performed the makeovers.
Stana, if memory serves me correctly, this image was part of a featured article in a uk magazine called Transliving. Their website is still up and running (transliving.co.uk) and back in the mid eighties this was the only way a could get information and stories about my hobby. I would have to do more digging but I think the premise was you could be and do anything you wanted. Thanks for the blast from the past. Sarah-Louse
ReplyDeleteIf I remember correctly, this image was for the makeover service known as Transformation ran by Stephanie Ann Lloyd here in the UK. I recall getting information from them in the early 2000's and this picture being in their brochure. I'm pretty sure they have downsized now from a few services around the country to concentrate on just a single shop/makeover centre in Manchester.
ReplyDeleteI think you are correct about the make up artist, the coat she is wearing looks like something a make up artist would wear while doing makeovers
ReplyDeleteThe femulations here are excellent The men in the photo appear to be college-age, so I a.m. suspecting some type of fundraiser or theater production, perhaps One of those who done it murder mystery dinner theaters, or perhaps a full wedding where there is some type of mystery or comedy.
The costumes and make up are all too good for it to be a joke or a lark
Also let’s face it these guys enjoyed what they were doing here
I think you were correct in your selection of who is Hill

When I was in college I pledged a fraternity. Several pledges and I were told we had to be girls at the Halloween party we had with our sister sorority. Girls from that sorority were assigned to help up get fixed up.
ReplyDeleteThey really fixed us up and there was a before and after photo of the six of us in the exact same pose as boys and then as girls. I no longer have my copies.
I wore a dress and pantyhose. My hair was long enough that they could fix it like a girl's. My biggest fear was that they'd realize that I loved it and had done it before.
Shame you don’t have the picture any more.
DeletePerhaps that is a sign of a crossdresser. We delete the pictures of us dressed up. Everyone else keeps theirs!!
DeleteThank you for the link to jerseygirlangie's Flickr! Such a fabulous collection of recaptioned art:)
ReplyDeleteWhat ever happened to the TV show The Candy Store? Did it ever make tv or scrubbed?
ReplyDeleteStana , thank you so much for your kind words ! I've enjoyed your Someday Funnies so much, it's quite gratifying, and humbling, to find that you consider my recap is worthy to appear amongst them !
ReplyDeleteI think everyone is in the same position in both photos except B and C who swapped! I base that mostly on the somewhat glum expression on B’s face.
ReplyDeleteTo be transformed into A or E would have been lovely. Evening dress yes, bride no. I'm not normally taken by the maid idea, but I think she looks so nice and envious.
