I'm waiting for the time when some woman (or some man!) of my church wears the same type and color as a dress that I happen to be wearing. I favor sleeveless maxi dresses that I frequently wear to morning mass and to choir practice. There are so few people who wear dresses to church that the match of dresses is EXTREMELY unlikely. Here's a very unlikely situation: At choir practice I was drinking a glass of wine while sitting next to one our priests. And as I had lipstick on I left smudges on the glass. I had nail polish to match my burgundy dress. (Incidentally I sing second bass.) You won't see something like that at a Baptist church!
My wife is not supportive of my desire or need to wear dresses. She rarely wears a dress. However, I did notice that on her side of the walk-in closet that she and I have the same Croft & Barrow dress in the same color/print and size (XL). I'm ten inches taller than her. What would be a midi-length of her is just at or just below the knee on me.
Several years ago I was wearing a pair of uniquely patterned hose under my pants to the office (which was an almost daily practice). I went out to dinner that evening with a few coworkers to see a woman at the restaurant wearing the same pair of patterned hose! I never told her about our matching leg wear, and I often wonder how she would have responded if I did.
