I wonder if Dave Foley is a civilian? Any thoughts?
I was always inspired by his femulations, His clothes, hair and make-up were always spot on but there was something else about his mannerisms and deportment that made his characters so believe able.
Dave’s got a bit of a Princess Di look going here … his femulations on KITH were always top class! As was his turn on a Halloween episode of News Radio, when his girlfriend complained he looked better in her dress than she did. She was right, too!
I was going to add, "And for my next impression.... Princess Di"! You beat me to it Jennijon!
And Dave Foley didn't just look like the real thing, watch how he moves. "She" nails it all the way, as "anonymous" pointed out!
"Back in my day" I used to go to "female impersonation" shows. When they were called "drag" they were still female impersonation. The over-the-top performers who had exaggerated costumes were closer to today's drag, but they were used for comic distraction. The stars of the show looked like women -- and they were really good at it! Dave Foley would have fit right in.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteWhich episode of The Kids In The Hall is this?
Thanks.
Season 4 Episode 10. At the 9 minute mark of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ub4hWiX-jww
DeleteJudging by his femulations on KIDS IN THE HALL and his Halloween episode of NEWS RADIO - I'd venture a guess that Dave Fioley is NOT a civilian. (lol)

Dave Foley, I never thought he was a civilian. He dressed "too well" in his roles.
