Sweet Loretta Martin

AKA Loretta Martin
I am a big Beatles fan. So much so that I once considered using Loretta Martin as my femme name.

Needless to say, I plunked down my eight bucks to get a one-month subscription to Disney+ in order to watch The Beatles: Get Back – the eight-hour documentary about the Fab Four (a redo of the 1969 film Let It Be)

Highlights for me:

🐞 The quality, both video and audio, was a huge improvement over Let It Be.

🐞 Watching Paul McCartney create a song (“Get Back”) out of thin air was amazing.

🐞 Seeing the complete rooftop concert uninterrupted from beginning to end was worth the price of admission.

🐞 Not so much a highlight, but an observation: Wow! They all smoked cigarettes all the time!

I definitely got my money’s worth and highly recommend the film to all Beatles fans.

  1. Stana,
If you have Hulu, you might enjoy McCartney 3, 2, 1. Check it out.

  3. I'm older than you, Stana. I didn't really appreciate The Beatles until The White Album. I had my R&B music to keep me company. Fats Domino with Dave Batholomew's band was my favorite. But I did get a good look at the commotion they caused prior to their first concert in America, in DC no less.

I worked in an office building close to DC's Union Station. I wasn't aware that National Airport had requested The Beatles not fly into DC. My desk was by a window and I started noticing lots of girls heading in the direction of Union Station. They just kept coming and coming and coming..... Apparently the DC Police had to bring in metal fences to keep the kids from blocking Mass. Avenue and the other adjacent streets. I stepped out early for lunch to see what was going on and heard probably the loudest collective scream of my lifetime. The Beatles headed away pretty quickly in their limo and the girls started moving quickly toward the bus stops near The National Mall. I hurried back into the building to keep from being caught in the flood on young girls! I found out later a number of young girls who worked for our company had participated in all the screaming!

  4. This evening I was in Barns and Nobel book store. They had a large display of their “Book of The Year”; Paul Paul McCartney's “The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present”. There was a group of three girls milling about and passed by the table. I would guess the age group to be late teen, maybe early college age. One of the girls said “Who is Paul McCartney?” I have never felt so old in my life.

  5. Stana ,     Just like the longtime Femulator you posted , I think it's important if one is brave enough to go out in public shopping ,  just dress enfemme as ones age is and everyone will be accepting of ones transwomanhood .

  8. I always like Paul’s goof at the end of “Obladioblada” where he says “Desmond stays at home and does his pretty face and in the evening she still sings it with the band”.

    1. For years, I thought that the "she" was intentional, but in my old age, I found out that it was an error.
