Before I found out about Avenue and Catherine's (ease of using dressing rooms) I did most of my clothes shopping at Macy's. Every now and then I'd get the "...for your wife?" question which I "answered" with just a shrug -- I told no lies. But the same people were always working the Women's (plus) department and my breakthrough was when I went to the register with a couple sweaters. The sales lady said, "I think you'll find the Jones New York sweaters will fit you better, especially in the arms". Well, it didn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure out all those clothes were for me, and the ladies were so nice about letting me know that they knew. And..... those Jones New York sweaters did fit me better, plus they were on sale!
Now that Avenue nd Catherine's have shut down their retail operations it's back to Macy's for me. And, really, the clothes I buy at Macy's have always been better quality and more stylish than those other stores -- and not that much more expensive. And while they wouldn't let "Mike" use the dressing rooms, they don't seem to have that problem with "Mikki".
The shop staff probably don't believe Staley's excuse any more than he does
