the guy on the right in the above b&w pic looks like liev schreiber, who despite his height and frame has femulated in movies on more than one occasion
In addition to his "Kids in the Hall" tv shows and films and the "NewsRadio" Halloween episode, Dave Foley also played a crossdressing dentist in the film "Employee of the Month." Is anyone aware of other Foley femulations?
Dave Foley is one great femulator! In addition to being attractive and being able to deliver a female voice there's another "little" thing -- look at how he crosses his legs like a woman! The anatomy of most men prevent us from crossing our legs like that. Clearly, Dave Foley was destined to be a femulator!
Women can cross their legs that way because they have wider hips, which are needed for giving birth. We all know we're on a spectrum between male and female. A small percentage of women get straight hips and can only give birth by C-section. Some lucky men have wider hips which allow them to be able to cross their legs the same way women do. So, Stana, you're a woman in a "mostly" man's body!
By the way, I learned all this stuff from one of my orthopaedic surgeons. He, too, can cross his legs like Dave Foley and Stana. I pointed that out (he already knew I was a crossdresser) and he explained all those details.
Dave Foley certainly made a gorgeous woman in his younger "Kids in the Hall" days, but the intervening years have not been kind to him as recent pics would attest to.
Personally, I think that fellow cast member Bruce McCulloch has often been under-rated as a femulator, having typically been overshadowed by Foley in a "Gilligan's Island" Mary-Ann/Ginger kind of way. Foley always portrayed the glam female character, whereas McCulloch was the quintessential (and more relatable) "girl next door" counterpart.
As for other "Kids in the Hall" productions following their successful sketch comedy run in the early 1990's, there was the movie "Kids in the Hall - Brain Candy" (1996), and more recently, a Canadian comedy mini-series entitled "Kids in the Hall - Death Comes to Town" (2010). The Kids apparently also signed a deal with Amazon in 2020 to produce a revival of the original series which was scheduled to start filming in the spring of 2021, and all 5 original cast members will be participating. No news yet as to when the first episodes will actually start streaming...
More on Dave Foley femulating. There is a music video by a band called "Odds" called "Heterosexual Male" that features quite a bit Dave in all his femulating glory. It's from about 1993. Dave is ultra pretty and there is a lot femulating by others in the video including eventually the band members who all become very pretty looking themselves. It's quite a catchy tune too!
I had forgotten about that great video! Kids in the Hall Kevin McDonald and Mark McKinney join Dave Foley en femme in the Odds' video. You can view it on YouTube.

ReplyDeleteThe actors in that photo are (left to right) Maureen O'Hara, Robert Young and Clifton Webb in the 1948 film "Sitting Pretty."
DeleteDave Foley NOT a civilian!

ReplyDeleteI have always been able to cross my legs like that and never thought twice about it, so thank you for shedding a new light on crossing my legs!

Dave Foley is either a very good actor or it is not the first time he has dressed a woman
