Perrineau's character, Monica Jones, was the extremely rare CD/TG film character who was "Monica" throughout the film. And there was never any question that Monica was CD/TG. If Monica had another name, it's a mystery to us. It's rare enough in today's films, but a breakthrough back in 2000.
It's a very fun piece of fluff, and whenever it shows up on a cable channel I'm "programmed" to watch it. My suggestion is to record it on your DVR to watch it twice. The first time through it's just so hard to keep your eyes off Penelope Cruz, arguably the most beautiful woman in film.
