Very interesting videos. But I'm guessing most "regular" men would just scratch their heads and wonder why it's full of "queers" and "lesbians". Granted, TG and Drag visibility is probably at its' highest level in my lifetime, but even my most thoughtful friends just dismiss it.
Speaking of Drag, the new CW program, Katy Keene, has "Jorge", a budding Drag Queen as one of it's featured characters, It's getting harder to avoid us! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10312964/videoplayer/vi1482275865?ref_=tt_ov_vi
Watching Flip appear as Geraldine on the family TV was a big deal in the early 70's. Prior to that when men dressed in women's clothes in skits on TV, they wore sack dresses and mop wigs. I know it made a lasting impression on me to see Flip in full make-up, false eyelashes, nails, pantyhose, revealing costumes and staying fully in character as a woman playing opposite many big stars of the day. Some of us were even empowered enough to dare to come out of the closet and play dress up (even if only for Halloween). Watch Geraldine Jones clips on youtube.
Flip's Geraldine character was a hoot, I really enjoyed his show.
ReplyDeleteI heard "The DEVIL made him do it! YOW!
