Breaking (Heart) News: Dress Barn Closing

Dress Barn AKA Roz & Ali is going out of business. A half dozen readers have passed along the bad news, so I thought that I would pass along the news, too.

In addition to readers informing me about Dress Barn, I received a text message from my cousin relaying the news. I was very surprised to receive that text because I am not out to that wing of the family. How did she find out that I am a Dress Barn / Roz & Ali customer?

Turns out that my cousin had birthday-gifted my wife a Dress Barn gift card last year and she wanted to make sure my wife used it before Dress Barn shutters its doors!

(By the way, I am composing a post or two about my Hamvention weekend, so please stand-by.)

  2. Sad - One less brick and mortar retailer we can go to to try things on for size.

    1. Not a good year. First Payless, now Dress Barn.

  3. I will continue to visit my local thrift stores in hopes of finding skirts and dresses in my size.

Does anyone have an idea of other retailers who are "friendly" to the trans community?

    1. Ascena, Dress Barn's parent company, also owns Justice, Lane Bryant, and Catherines clothing store brands, and is the parent company of Ann Inc., operator of Ann Taylor and Loft stores. I have shopped at Lane Bryant, Catherines and Ann Taylor and their staffs were just as friendly to me as the staff at Dress Barn. But to tell you the truth, I have never run into an unfriendly staff at any women's clothing store that I have shopped.
