Facebook Off

As soon as I finish this post, I am going to mosey on over to Facebook and delete my account.

Years ago, Facebook blocked my account because they thought my femme name was fake. They offered no option for people like us.

I continued to use my other Facebook account which was under my legal name, but I used it less and less as time went by. Nowadays, I check in maybe once a week.

Then there was this: "Facebook apologizes to evangelist Franklin Graham after banning him for 24 hours over a 2016 post in which he argued in favor of a bill regulating transgender bathroom access"

Graham has been on our case for years, but I paid him no attention. I figured he was just another ChINO (Christian In Name Only) practicing his so-called religion. I always say, "Ignore the ignorant" and that's what I did.

But Facebook's support of Graham's "religious" views was the last straw. I am not waiting for the third strike and will delete my Facebook account post haste.

Happy New Year!

  1. Stana, I've never had (or wanted) a FB account for my female self. I've heard too many stories of people accidentally outing themselves because their accounts connected. I use multiple email addresses to separate my feminine activities and always use incognito mode for browsing, even on my phone.

I like your picture very much, hope you have a wonderful New Year.

  2. You do not know me but I have followed your blog for several years and enjoy it immensely ~ always informative and interesting.

This is the first time I have posted a comment and I am in total agreement with your actions

  3. I deleted my fb account a while ago, I was shocked when it would recommend coworkers, acquaintances and friends as possible connections (and I assume I came up on their screens) even though I used my femme name, didn't say where I work, etc. it was really intrusive and I'm happy I left it.

  5. Never had FB, never will. Don't like their terms, or their security.

Hope you had a good holiday. You look fabulous!

  6. I would seem that 'Zuck' is trying to somehow appease D.C. apparatchiks who were on his case by sucking up to 'Uncle Billy'.
I grew up in Billy's hometown, and the hypocrisy and duplicity I had to endure from my 'fellow so-called Southern Christians' always made me puke.
If you were a mill worker in the south, Billy was always there to remind the ever obedient, under paid, under educated working class: "You gonna' get your 'pie in the sky'.
I recall the motto 'Capitalism has a way of killing itself off. It seems that contemporary Christianity is trying to do SAME. WWJD? Velma

  8. I do not like the idea of FB being a monitor and arbiter of what they find acceptable. They blame it on programing but people do the programing and the culling of posts and accounts at FB is biased.
It makes no sense that the post was on FB for two years and then was banned for a day. FB is up to its tricks in trying to censor those whose views do not align with their world view.
