I haven't read his article yet but one thing in North Carolina is the legislature used bathrooms as a magic trick. By getting people to look at the bathroom issue, they got them to look away from the obvious part of the trick. Forbidding cities from setting minimum wage higher than the Federal minimum. Taking away the right to sue in state court for ANY type of discrimination including age, race, etc. North Carolina's HB2 was more about usurping power from the cities, something their legislature has been working at for some time. Bathrooms were just piled on top for distractions and to, I'm sure, get campaign contributions from the Liberty Council (they defended Kim Davis) who are promoting these bathroom bills all over the country. Liberty Council also is promising to defend states that pass these laws in court for free if they are sued.

DeleteI can't believe this country is going nuts over bathrooms! First off, how does NC think they are going to enforce their new law? ID's and pat down before entering the bathroom? Second, how is anyone going to know if the person using the bathroom is in a stall doing their business with the door closed? I hate public restrooms anyway and my goal upon entering is to leave as fast as I can regardless of how I am presenting myself. Thank you for posting this piece Stana.
