I am liking the shortsuit for a number of reasons.
- It is a great outfit for warm weather.
- It looks professional yet shows off a little/lot of leg.
- It is different; it is not an outfit you encounter often, especially around here.
- Since it has a bifurcated bottom, boys can wear short suits too without consternation.
Of course, if a boy wears high heels, pantyhose and a bag with his short suit, then he will be pushing the envelope… not quite en femme, but at least, semi-en femme.
And I am liking the shortsuit so much that I plan to wear one tomorrow when I attend the StampShow in Hartford.
Wearing Forever21.
Three fellows femulating in red circa 1988.
The shortsuits you posted are all cute...but I like the white (middle) one the best. Particularly with the colorful blouse. They all provide a great leg-show. I'd wear any one of them in a heartbeat - with low or medium heels! Looking forward to hearing about your experiences at the show...

I liked the white one best, too, Mandy.
DeleteYou go girl. It should be fine at the show tomorrow. The style harkens back to the Hot Shorts era of the mid-70s. I remember going to a friend's wedding where the bridesmaids all had long gowns on for the church wedding but when the got to the reception the long skirt bottom of the gown was unhooked revealing hot shorts over pantyhose which to a budding CD like me was rather intriguing.

PS: You are surely the only gender blogger who would even consider using the term 'bifurcated' and then suceed in using it properly. Thanks for the morning smile.
I loved "hot pants" way back when, Pat, and was glad I was able to have a chance to wear them!
DeleteIs "semi-en femme" Semi-Femmie?
ReplyDeleteIf you put this on facebook I would just hit "like", so I will just say "Smile"
DeleteGood one, Meg!
DeleteWhat's wrong with a male wearing an unbifurcated garment (i.e. a skirt or a dress)? There would be no inseam to jam into the delicate external male privates. If I were to go out with heels with my short suit I would certainly wear a skirt instead of shorts. I always carry a cross body purse when going out as I don't like to jam things into my pockets.
ReplyDeleteVery cool, John!
DeleteNot convinced about wearing shorts en femme. Short skirts are much more fun and encourage a more feminine style of deportment.
ReplyDeleteCarrying a purse always switches my deportment into feminine gear no matter what I am wearing below the waist. LOL!
DeleteI like the short suit look, it hasn't really caught on over here, probably because there are usually only a couple of weeks a year when it would be appropriate, I'm not sure I would wear one, but then I don't have legs like yours!
ReplyDeleteAnd I will now be taking it as a point of pride to use "bifurcated" in a post very, very soon!
I don't know if it is catching on here either. All day Thursday, I was the only woman wearing one and the weather was very conducive to that style.
