I received a bushel of lemons yesterday and I am still upset about it today... so upset that I have not been able to concentrate on my work and have walked around the salt mine venting to anyone who will listen.
When I finally returned to my cubicle, I perused my e-mails and noticed one from Ultimate Outlet promoting a "40% Off Summer-Ready Skirts & Dresses" sale. To get my mind off my woes, I visited their website to see what they had.
A cute red and black, chevron print, sleeveless shift dress in my size caught my eye. It was marked down from $149 to $14.75! Factor in the 40% discount and the dress cost only $8.85!
How could I resist?
I ordered the dress as fast as my mouse would let me and enjoyed the short temporary relief that my shopping spree provided.
How fortunate you are that your work permits that. (Or else, you own the business!!!) I would have dearly loved to have such freedom, at times when the lemons were flying around! And that seems to happen just about everywhere...
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, where I used to work, there were regulations forbidding such "visits" and they actually monitored everyone's internet and email activity. Others had received nasty-grams for such infractions as sending personal emails and visiting non-work-related sites...
"Big brother" is alive and well...in some places!
I'm sorry! Big brother, is "not" a business doing it's due diligence to ensure it's employees are not doing personal business on company time. Big brother is the IRS Progressively "stalling" one groups not for profit status over an others, during an election period.

ReplyDeleteI can't say that I am pro or not when it comes to lemons and or Lemonade. I prefer limes, (especially in my tequila) though I do enjoy a nice home made lemonade on a hot august afternoon. But I degrees. Can you get the lemons you detest to a food pantry or shelter?
ReplyDeleteThe one thing is.....tannic acid found in kemonade prevents kidney stones from forming..si genuine lemonade does have therapeutic properties
