Updated Saturday Morning
You have asked me to list upcoming transgender conventions.
So I compiled a list of the stateside conferences and conventions I am aware of that will occur during the next 12 months. If I missed anything, let me know.
By the way, by "conventions" I am referring to multi-day events that include a mix of educational and social events as opposed to one or two-day "conferences" that are more or less strictly educational.
- March 9-13, 2011 - Harrisburg, PA - The Keystone Conference
- April 15-17, 2011 - Warner Springs, CA - Circles
- April 30, 2011 - Farmington, CT - Transgender Lives: The Intersection of Health and Law Conference
- May 4-7, 2011 - Albany, NY - The Empire Conference
- May 15-20, 2011 - Port Angeles, WA - Espirit 2011
- May 31 - June 5, 2011 - Chicago, IL - Be-All
- June 2-4, 2011 - Philadelphia, PA - Philadelphia Trans-Health Conference
- Aug. 5-7, 2011 - Seattle, WA - Gender Odyssey
- Sept. 20-25, 2011 - Atlanta, GA - Southern Comfort Conference
- Oct. 16-23, 2011 - Provincetown, MA - Fantasia Fair
- Nov. 11-13, 2011 - Springfield, MA - Transcending Boundaries
- Jan. 2012 - Boston, MA - First Event
- Feb. 2012 - Denver, CO - Colorado Gold Rush
And the Transgender Health and Law Conference at the University of Connecticut Health Center on April 30

Andee --- I do not believe that there will be an IFGE conference this year. Last April, there was an announcement that there would be a conference on April 14-17, 2011, but I have seen no follow-up announcements.
ReplyDeleteI just know you had a Paul Mc Cartney song in mind when you named this topic! Just being observant!

Do you know of anything across the pond in th UK please?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous --- The last UK conference I am aware of was the Barbara Ross Association Conference in September 2010 at at the University of East Anglia. There is no information regarding their next conference, but watch this space.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a "convention" but an event/vaction; Diva Las Vegas is April 3-8. It is a week of dining out, taking in shows, gathering with friends throughout the city. No cost to attend, just pay for any activity you wish to do (golf, high tea, shows, dancing). This year they are expecting around 200 attendees.

Hi Stana
ReplyDeleteAgain not strictly a conference although there are all sorts of seminars going on, as well as daytime and evening bands/ acts/ pageants etc, the biggest TG event going on in the UK is SPARKLE in Manchester. http://www.sparkle.org.uk/
I have been for 5 of the last 6 years and can highly recommend it as a great place to meet and have fun. Likely to have a 1,000 tgirls so you can't miss us.
