Transsexual model Lea T |
This story is beginning to get old, but here is Vogue.com’s take on the femimen movement in the fashion world.
I say…
Fashion is one thing, but the real world is something else. Lots of stuff that models wear on the runways never show up on the sidewalks.
Will the femimen movement be different? Will we soon see femimen on the streets of America?
Maybe.
I hope maybe, but I'm afraid maybe not
ReplyDeleteI think it depends. In the major cities, probably; and to some extent it already does. Between the coasts, not likely. However, there is a growing level of tolerance out there even away from the coasts. Major corporations now have policies that prevent discrimination. These even apply in areas that don't have laws. So perhaps we as a community are at a "tipping point" where the hostility will subside and we get indifference.
ReplyDeleteI don't know.
ReplyDeleteAt least here, in Sweden, in the large cities it doesn't matter all too much if you avoid the dark places that all women have to fear or the quarters in which macho cultures prevail.
Then again I don't understand the possible connection of "feminman" to the (trans)woman, Lea T actually is?
