Gwen alerted me to this article in the Telegraph today about Lt Col Dudley Clarke, a spy for M16 who was arrested in a street in Madrid “dressed down to a brassiere as a woman."
He didn't do very well. He was a military deception planner in WW2. He tried his hand at being a spy, hence the dressing, and was caught, and almost court martialed. Luckily, he saw that he wasn't made out to be a spy, so he went back to deceiving Erwin Rommel in the fight for North Africa.
That worked for him. The severe look of the hat somehow covers the severity of the face. Love the pictures.
